As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, community members are invited to participate in two upcoming events focused on the district’s financial planning and priorities. The goal is to ensure transparency and provide a clear understanding of the budget process.

Each meeting serves a different but aligned purpose, so the following outlines what attendees can expect at both sessions below:

July 6, 2026: Budget Workshop (5 p.m., Fisher Administration Building, 12121 W. North Ave.)

The Budget Workshop is an interactive session designed to provide a deeper look at the priorities, challenges, and financial realities shaping next year’s budget. You will learn directly from district administrators about the factors influencing decision, including instructional priorities, operational needs, state funding, and fiscal constraints.

What to expect:

  • Budget Presentation: A detailed breakdown of how resources are aligned to support student success while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

  • Q&A Session: Community members will have the opportunity to ask questions, share perspectives, and engage in meaningful dialogue with district administration.

July 20, 2026: Budget Hearing (5 p.m., Fisher Administration Building, 12121 W. North Ave.)

The Budget Hearing is the statutory formal meeting required before the budget can be officially adopted.

What to expect:

  • Final Budget Presentation: A concluding overview of the proposed 2026-2027 budget.

  • Formal Public Comment: Community members may give public comments in accordance with Policy 0167.3 - Public Comment at Board Meetings. Please review this policy in advance for details on time limits and procedures.

  • Adjournment of the Budget Hearing: The formal hearing portion will officially close.

  • School Board Meeting and Vote: Immediately following the hearing, the School Board will convene its regular meeting to vote on whether to officially adopt the proposed 2026-2027 budget.

Attending the Monday, July 6, 2026, workshop is an excellent opportunity for community members to get their questions answered in preparation for the formal budget hearing on Monday, July 20, 2026. All residents are encouraged to attend, become informed, and participate in the conversation about the investments shaping our schools.
