Washington Elementary School students participated in a schoolwide service learning project with Kids Impact Community, a local organization whose goal is to create welcoming opportunities for kids of all ages to serve and volunteer at local nonprofits. Washington’s efforts supported three local nonprofits:

🍽️ Just One More Ministry, which rescues excess food from area restaurants, food suppliers, and caterers and repackages it for shelters, food pantries, and community members in need

🏠 The Guest House, which provides shelter, housing, education, and services to Milwaukee's homeless who seek to transform their lives with dignity and purpose.

💞 Kids Inc. Matters, which helps bring volunteer energy and community support to foster and kinship children.

All students participated in sorting donations, packing lunches, creating hygiene kits, and putting together fostering hope packages. Little hands and big hearts can make a difference!

A special shoutout goes out to School Social Worker Amber Montague for her hard work in organizing this service learning opportunity and instilling a stronger sense of compassion and community for all involved!
