Staff smiling

Our County Programs staff came together on Aug. 20 to kick off the start of the school year with professional learning and an opportunity to connect, celebrate, and prepare for a successful year ahead!

DID YOU KNOW our district is home to educational services that serve our county in unique ways?

🌟 Champions is an alternative education program for students in grades 6-12 who require an alternative learning environment to restore, repair, and build the skills academically, behaviorally, and socially to be successful now and in the future.

🌟 Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and WSD’s partnership program allows children to experience a welcome and reassuring routine during hospitalization. Participation in educational activities allows children to keep up-to-date with schoolwork and to keep their minds off illness and hospitalization.

🌟 GED Option #2 provides educational instruction that prepares students for successful completion of standardized GED content exams in their journey to earn a traditional high school diploma.

🌟 Vel R. Phillips School provides educational services to all Milwaukee County children who are placed in secure detention by the Wisconsin Juvenile Court System.

🌟 Wauwatosa Virtual Academy is an alternative online education program.

To align with the theme of this morning’s event, we’d like to take a moment to give our County Programs staff members their flowers for the many ways they positively impact their students, our district, and our greater community. We are so proud to have this incredible team as a part of our Tosa family!
