School Board Approves Hybrid Instruction for Phase Into Learning Starting Tuesday, September 8 and Continuing Through Friday, October 2, 2020

On Monday, August 24, 2020, the Wauwatosa School Board approved the metrics developed by the Medical/Public Health Advisory Panel, along with a recommendation to begin the school year using a hybrid model for the Phase into Learning Plan on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 and continuing through Friday, October 2nd, 2020. Cohort information will be shared in the coming days, which will determine whether your student starts school on Tuesday, September 8 (Cohort A) or Thursday, September 10 (Cohort B).

The Medical/Public Health Advisory Panel will evaluate metrics and data regularly and will provide an update to the School Board at its meeting on Monday, September 28, 2020. At that time, the School Board will vote on how to proceed in the Phase Into Learning model of instruction after October 2 - either continuing with the hybrid model or shifting to five-day per week, in-person or full virtual learning based on metrics and guidance from the Medical/Public Health Advisory Panel.

A calendar of key dates for fall 2020 can be found here, and an updated timeline can be found here. It should be noted that the earliest day students enrolled in Phase Into Learning could return to five-day per week, in-person classroom learning is Monday, October 5, 2020.
