Class of 2020: Diploma Pick Up

Due to current outdoor event guidelines established by the Wauwatosa Health Department, we will not be able to hold a full in-person graduation ceremony.  Current guidelines limit outdoor gatherings to no more than 50 people. Even if we were to limit each family to two guests, we will be at 1,000 people within one outdoor venue. The health, safety and welfare of our students, staff and families remains a top priority as COVID-19 continues to impact our community.

However, we will be moving  forward with diploma distribution for our graduates in the following ways.

Photo Opportunity

This option will involve a structured drive through photo opportunity for your and your family.  This event will provide a photo opportunity of the graduate crossing a stage in their cap and gown, with District and building administrators present. There will be clear expectations for wearing masks, hand sanitizing and social distancing for graduates and you will need to register  for a specific time slot to participate in this opportunity. In addition, graduates will be limited in the number of guests who attend the photo opportunity. The photo opportunities will be held at East on July 25 and at West on July 26. Please note that this option will only be available if enough students indicate interest. Additional details will be shared when participation levels are determined.

Standard Pick Up

This option will involve a standard pick up of your diploma on selected dates and times at your high school. No photo opportunities will be available at this time.

We are asking all graduates, in consultation with your family, to complete the following survey by 9 am on Monday, July 13 to select your preferred method of picking up your diploma. We will use this information to determine who will be picking up diplomas from the high school and establish time slots for the photo opportunity.
