School Board Meeting Recap - August 22, 2022

On Monday, August 22, the Board of Education approved the District’s proposed Human Growth and Development curriculum and the 2022-25 Strategic Plan. The Board was also presented with the District’s Disciplinary Framework. A recording of the meeting has been published on our YouTube channel

Information and lessons related to Human Growth and Development can be found here. This curriculum will be effective beginning in the upcoming 2022-23 school year.

The Strategic Plan can be found here. In the coming weeks, we will be incorporating the corresponding Strategic Planning tracking dashboard, which the community will use to hold district leaders accountable throughout the implementation of the plan.

The Disciplinary Framework can also be found on our website. The framework document will be distributed to all families and students, and each caregiver will be required to acknowledge their receipt, review and understanding of its contents.

Dr. Means will be holding an engagement session related to the Strategic Plan on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 6-8 pm at the Fisher Administration Building in Conference Room C. A virtual option will be available via Zoom. Childcare and interpreter services will be available.

This engagement session will serve as an opportunity for community members to ask questions about how the Strategic Plan will be implemented, gain a better understanding of how the plan will impact their child(ren) and get any additional clarity needed. We strongly encourage members of our community to participate in this session, either in-person or virtually. The session will be recorded to allow access to individuals who are unable to attend on September 13.

District Administrators wish to thank all of our community members - especially those who have dedicated their time, expertise and effort to serving on the Human Growth and Development or the Strategic Planning Steering Committee. Your perspectives and input have been invaluable in the development of these critically important initiatives and the impact they will have on the children of Wauwatosa.
