The Wauwatosa School District will continue to review guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the Wauwatosa Health Department now and in the future, and we will use that information to help guide our decisions regarding our COVID-19 mitigation procedures.
For the remainder of the 2020-21 school year, mask-wearing will be mandatory when indoors on district property, regardless of vaccination status. This includes before- and after-school activities, Recreation Department programming, Junior Kindergarten (JK) and Tosa Tots. Exceptions exist for those who have a medical condition, and for individuals who are actively eating or drinking.
Effective immediately, masks are recommended (not mandatory) for all outdoor activities and Summer School programming. Individuals who wish to wear a mask, or those who are unvaccinated and unable to physically distance themselves from others, are encouraged to wear a mask or other face covering.
It is our expectation that the members of our educational community will respect the decisions of others regarding mask-wearing. Bullying, teasing or otherwise harassing individuals based on whether they choose to wear or not wear a mask outdoors will not be tolerated.
We will continue to keep you updated if any changes are made to these guidelines in the future.
