Wauwatosa Students Named State Champions in State Forensics Tournament


Two Wauwatosa East High School students are among this year’s state champions at the Wisconsin Forensic Coaches Association State Tournament held at the Wisconsin State Capitol and De Forest Middle and High Schools April 5-6.


Brenna Powers was named the State Champion in the category “Moments in History” and Autumn Cortright was named State Champion in “Storytelling”.  To be named Champions, both students advanced beyond preliminary rounds, beyond semi-finals, and were the best among the 6 competitors in the final round for their categories.


The tournament marks the capstone of high school competitive speech activities for Wisconsin students. This year, more than 1,000 students from 71 schools across the state competed in 19 events.
