Wauwatosa Students Inducted Into National Honor Society for High School Students of German

Thirty-six high school students in the Wauwatosa School District have been inducted into Delta Epsilon Phi National Honor Society for High School Students of German.

To qualify for membership, students must complete six German-related service hours during each school year, have at least a 3.6 GPA in their German language classes over the last three semesters and hold an overall 3.0 GPA. The students were officially inducted during a May 16 ceremony at Wauwatosa West High School. 

“It’s a significant achievement for our German language students to become members of Delta Epsilon Phi National Honor Society,” said Dr. Demond Means, Superintendent. “This honor is a testament to our students’ efforts in the classroom and their passion for the German language. We are so proud of this year’s inductees and hope they continue their German studies well into the future.”

Inductees from Wauwatosa East High School include Ivie Fensin, Daniel Kreklow, Naomi Molina, Alyssa Novalija, Lydia Otto, Julius Ryan, Madeline Stencel, Natalie Watry and Arthur Wellenstein. Annabel Biasi, Arianna Hensersky, Anja Ranft, Anneke Shiller and Jack Zautner from Wauwatosa East are returning members of the society. 

Inductees from Wauwatosa West High School include Thomas Foersterling, Molly Frost, Lilian Kiracofe, Amara Marshell, Julia Thompson, Natalie Watry and Mateusz Zielonka. Steven Awve, Eliot Began, Abigail Burghardt, Edie Eckblad, Ethan Espinosa, Logain, Espinosa, Meghan Grimes, Richard Huynh, Jane Janiszewski, Eleanor Jannan, Andrea Justin, Carolyn Molter, Carina Pelzek, Camille Socol, Kosta Tourloukis, Jacon Trinkl and Savannah Williams are all returning members from Wauwatosa West. 

The National Honor Society for High School Students of German was founded in 1968 by the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) to recognize the outstanding academic achievement of high school German language students across the country.
