Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Lenka Wendland

Hi! My name is Lenka Wendland and I am one of the third grade teachers at McKinley. I have graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran College with a BA in Elementary/Middle Education and a minor in Social Studies. I have also pursued many courses in art. In 2009, I received my masters degree in education. Not only did I have the opportunity to student teach here at McKinley in 2000 but I was also invited back here as a full time third grade teacher. I have been teaching full time at McKinley since 2002. I believe that education is a process in which the academic, social, emotional, and physical sides of a child are engaged and consequently formed into a complete individual. My goals as a teacher are to help my students become independent thinkers, responsible and respectful citizens, and mostly life-long learners with good work habits. I want my students to enjoy learning and coming to school everyday.

When I am not teaching or planning things for school, I am most likely enjoying time with my husband and three children. Having family on three different continents we do a great deal of traveling and I always enjoy sharing my world travels with my students. Please do not hesitate to stop by or call me. Together we can make a difference!
