Ms. Denise Mulcahy
Born and raised in Madison, I am Wisconsinte through and through. I cheer for Bucky. Green and gold run through my veins, and I have a love/hate relationship with snow. I even have an "up north" near the tiny town of Exeland, Wisconsin.
Married, with 2 young children, I decided to enroll in the Education program at UW-Milwaukee. Being a full-time student and Mom taught me the importance of organization and stress-management. I put these lessons to good use everyday in the classroom. I became a teacher because children are our greatest asset and the number one path to having a positive and lasting impact on the future. I want my children, grandchildren, and futre great-greats to live and grow in a world where everyone is accepted for who they are and everyone has equal access to education and learning.
My teaching career began in 1995 at Washington Elementary School where I taught 4th grade for 18 years and 5th grade for 2 years. I earned my Master of Education degree in 2005. Teaching is my passion. In my class students are taught how to be optimistic, persistent, flexible, resilient, and empathetic for these are the stances required for authentic learning and problem solving. Together my students and I will create a positive learning environment based on cooperation, assertiveness, and being responsible and empathetic toward others. Mulcahy County is a great place to learn and grow!
