Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Thomas Norstrem

A Tosa West grad myself, I have been teaching at West since my student teaching in the Spring of 1992. I was hired later in that same year as a full time teacher. In my time at West, I have served in a number of ways outside the classroom, including Yearbook advisor, freshman football coach, Building Leadership Team, and various committee memberships.  Currently, I am an IBA Co-Commissioner and I serve as the Department Chairman for the English Department.

I earned my Bachelors degree from UW-Milwaukee in 1992, and my Masters degree in Educational Administration from Concordia in 2011. As a teacher, I have had the opportunity to foster a love of learning in my students but in myself as well over the years.

I am married with three children, all Tosa West grads. I enjoy traveling, from the southern beaches of Florida to the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming (Go, Pokes!) and beyond. As an outdoorsman, I enjoy fishing and hunting and camping and hiking whenever I get the chance. Closer to home, I am an avid Brewers fan, and I enjoy spending time with my dogs Chancey and Reggie, as well as both practicing and learning horsemanship with my mustang, Wheeler.

My goal at West is to give students a positive, empowering experience that will prepare them for whatever the path ahead of them holds.
