Buildings & Grounds

  • The Wauwatosa School District Buildings & Grounds Department works to maintain our schools and environments that promote successful learning.

Each day our students spend hours in our District buildings learning in classrooms, being nourished by meals in our cafeterias, and developing an understanding of physical wellness, determination, and teamwork in our gyms. Studies have shown that the condition of these spaces is connected to student's level of creativity and that a positive physical learning environment impacts student' success.

Specifically, the Buildings & Grounds Department is responsible for maintaining and cleaning the fourteen district-owned buildings and the adjacent grounds.
    • Maintenance of district facilities includes:
    • general repair of structures and operational systems
    • winter and summer site maintenance material handling and transport
    • custodial support
    • safety oversight and numerous other functions
