Wauwatosa West Broadcast Journalism students learn the tools to critically evaluate and examine our media rich world while learning the skills to produce high quality, professional grade video journalism stories. We train students in all phases of the production broadcast news process and provide students with detailed understanding of the latest video equipment and production techniques. Students produce youth focused stories about their community and these stories are distributed widely. Additionally, student producers are responsible for producing all aspects of the bi-weekly live advisory announcements program, producing live coverage of weekly sporting events as well as working with the PBS News Hour Student Reporting Labs program to complete youth focused assignments for the nationally syndicated public news program. Students attend regional and national journalism conventions. Contact Chris Lazarski at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
