Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Loni Gornick

Sharing the joy of music as an educator as well as a performer has been a lifelong pursuit of mine.  I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and my Master’s of Music in String Development from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Prior to coming to the Wauwatosa School District, I taught elementary and high school orchestra in the Lake Geneva School District.  I play all of the stringed instruments and piano.   My major instrument is the cello.

Outside of school, I participate in many orchestra-related activities.  I am a cellist in the Wisconsin Philharmonic Orchestra.  Before joining the Philharmonic in 2005, I played with Rock River Philharmonic, Lake Geneva Symphony, Music by the Lake Festival Orchestra, and Masterpiece Chorale.  I perform frequently at Milwaukee, Waukesha, and Walworth County events and weddings throughout the summer and school year with the Lakeside Strings.

When I’m not making music or thinking about making music, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two young sons, running (I even completed my first half marathon in 2016!), being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with friends.
