Mrs. Deborah Moertl

I came to Wauwatosa Schools in 2016 as District Teacher-Leader for Secondary Mathematics, with 18 years of high school mathematics teaching experience.  In that time, I have taught all levels of mathematics and have been involved in many professional organizations.  I am excited to be working with teachers and students at Longfellow Middle School, Whitman Middle School, East High School, and West High School to improve the conceptual understanding of all students.

I am currently a member of National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Wisconsin Math Council, Milwaukee Math Teachers' Circle, and am a member of the Steering Committee for the Math Leaders' Network of Southeastern Wisconsin.  I love to learn and am constantly studying the most recent research on effective mathematics teaching and learning.

I have two children who attend Wauwatosa schools and are involved in various sports and music programs.  When we're not attending their practices and events, we enjoy camping and watching the Packers!
