Mr. Tyler Burmeister

Mr. Burmeister currently teaches 5th grade band at the following elementary schools in Wauwatosa:  Eisenhower, Montessori, Underwood/U-STEM, and Wilson/W-STEM.  This is Mr. Burmeister's 6th year teaching band in Wauwatosa.  Prior to teaching in Wauwatosa Mr. Burmeister taught middle school and high school band for four years in rural northern Wisconsin for the Flambeau School District.   He graduated in 2008 from Northern Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in Music Education.  While at Northern Michigan he performed on trumpet in many ensebmles including the Concert Band, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, and the Wildcat Marching Band.   

In addition to teaching band in Wauwatosa, Mr. Burmeister is an active performer in the community.  He has performed with the Milwaukee Festival Brass in numerous concerts and events since 2012 and has also served as the group's assistant music director since 2015.  He has also performed with other community and church groups and has also served as an adjudicator for other band festivals in the area.

Mr. Burmeister currently resides in West Allis with his wife and two children.
