Ms. Kate Sarner

It is a privilege and honor to introduce myself as the Director of the award-winning, internationally recognized Tosa East Players!

Having been a professional performer for many years, it is my belief that Theatre has the power to inspire and educate in ways that no other art form can. Theatre fosters a positive educational atmosphere, builds community, and encourages students to overcome their fears by taking positive risks in a completely supportive environment. Theatre builds self-esteem and cultivates the skills students need to become creative, innovative adults who are positive and successful.

Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked as an actor/singer/dancer in New York City for about 6 years. While not on tour or in a show, I taught Acting, Dance, and Movement at several institutions in New York including the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center.

When I returned to Wisconsin, I earned my Teaching Licenses in English and Theater at Alverno College. I also hold a BA in Acting from UW-Madison and a certificate of completion from Friches Theater Urbain in Paris, France.

I am very excited to announce the new courses in the Theatre program:  Acting 1, Acting 2, Technical Theatre 1, Technical Theatre 2, Topics in Theatre:  Musical Theatre and Improv, and Independent Study in Theatre.

I look forward to working with you to continue in the tradition of excellence in theatre!
