Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Yosef Scott

Welcome to my page. I excited that you are here and part of the experience in my class.

I am a native New Yorker. I went to Touro College (now called Touro University) for my undergrad. I finished with a BS in Math and Actuarial Sciences. (Loved the math, hate the actuary courses). I married my wife, who is from Milwaukee. We then lived in NY for one year and I went to Queens College and started my education course work. We both did not enjoy the big city life and moved back to Milwaukee to the Sherman Park neighborhood. I went to UWM to complete my course work and got my teaching license in 2011. I then worked in a private school for one year before moving onto MPS. I taught 4 years at Vincent High School. Meanwhile every summer I came to Wauwatosa to teach summer school. I taught one year at West and 5 years at East before signing on for the full year job here at East High School.

Currently the courses I teach are Geometry and College Math Foundations. I have taught Algebra I, Algebra 2 and Pre-Calc and Calculus in my other jobs. Students are always welcome to come and ask for help on any math topic. If I do not know the answer I have the resources to find them

I am a big fan of the CPM curriculum. I love how my classes are loud and bustling with activity. I am a firm proponent of having students take ownership of their learning. I have seen many students engage in their learning and see success in many different ways. While it may not seem that I am directly teaching, I am making sure that students are supported and guided in their path to understanding.

I look forward to meeting you or hearing from you. Please do not hesitate to contact me. Email is generally the best method.
