Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Kristine Barrett
I began teaching in 1984 after receiving a BS degree in Elementary Education from UW - Milwaukee. I joined the Wauwatosa School District in 2011. After teaching second grade for five years, I joined the fourth grade team and am enjoying it very much. Our classroom is a busy place with a lot of hands on learning. My first goal that our classroom is a safe place for students to learn, grow, and be valued. Another goal I have is for every student is to think of themselves as a problem solver, so that they can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. As my students mature and become more independent, they also learn the value of working as a team. They are encouraged to use all the resources available to them which may include friends, technology, and other reference materials. I think humor can make learning more fun. I like to be silly and enjoy a good joke. My husband and I have 4 children, so I understand the important balance of school work and family time. We all want what's best for our kids.
