Mrs. Katharine Petitt

My name is Katharine Petitt and I have been teaching in Wauwatosa since 2007.  I taught senior kindergarten at Roosevelt Elementary in the district until 2015 when I transferred to McKinley to teach first grade.  My prior teaching experience is in four-year old kindergarten and preschool.  I am a third-generation teacher, so the teaching profession is something that has always been in my life and has become part of who I am.  I strive to create a classroom environment where students are engaged and challenged to grow as learners, but also nurtured and cared for as individuals.  In addition to being a professional educator in Wauwatosa, I am also a Tosa parent.  Participating in the inner workings of the district and experiencing the dedication of teachers with my own children has been a great privilege.  In my time outside of school, I like to read, bake, have family movie nights and go camping.
