• 2020-21 School Year

Please visit our Reopening Plan web page for information related to the 2020-21 school year.

    Building + Facilities Usage

Our District buildings are currently open, and summer programming - including the Recreation Department’s Summer Adventure Club and Right at School Summer Camp - will be held at various District facilities. All individuals who wish to enter a District building must comply with our Visitor Guidelines, which include wearing a mask and completing a form prior to entry. Individuals who wish to use a District facility must comply with our Athletic Department Guidelines, which include wearing a mask when not engaged in physical activity and maintaining social distancing practices.

In the event an individual who has entered a District building contracts COVID-19, the data collected via this form will allow us to identify and notify individuals who may have been exposed. Within 24 hours of receiving confirmation of a positive COVID-19 case, the District will send letters to individuals who have been identified as low and medium risk. Sample letters can be found in the Resources menu on the right side of this page. Individuals identified as high risk will be called via phone by the Wauwatosa Health Department.

Definitions of low, medium and high risk are as follows:

LOW RISK: Any individual in the building at the same time as the COVID-19 positive individual.

MEDIUM RISK: Any individual who came in direct contact with COVID-19 positive individual (less than 6 feet apart for 15 minutes, or depending on the situation, 15 minutes in the same room/location).

HIGH RISK: Almost exclusively those living within the same house at the COVID-19 positive individual. Other examples include an individual who was coughed on, sneezed on, or who came into direct contact with saliva of a COVID-19 positive individual.

If you have any questions, please contact District Nurse Katelyn Lasse via phone at 414-773-1961 or via email at lasseka@wauwatosa.k12.wi.us

Library Book Summer Pickup + Return

Please note that the Wauwatosa Public Library will accept school library book returns all summer long.

    Meals + Nutrition

The District will continue to provide meals to both District and non-District families over the summer months. Distribution will take place on Mondays at Whitman and on Tuesdays at Longfellow from 11 am to 12:30 pm. Families will receive breakfast and lunch for the week. Please click here to place your weekly order. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Joe Maiorelle at maioreljo@wauwatosa.k12.wi.us

    Slow the Spread of COVID-19

We all play a role in reducing coronavirus instances in our community. We encourage everyone to practice every day preventative measures including:

    • Wear a mask or other face covering, unless advised otherwise by a medical professional. Click here to access valuable mask-wearing tips!
    • Practice social distancing and remain at least 6 feet away from non-members of your household.
    • Wash your hands regularly, especially after using the restroom and before preparing or consuming food. Using soap and hot water, wash for at least 20 seconds. Be sure to also wash your fingertips.
    • Avoid coughing or sneezing into your hands or in the air. Always try to cough or sneeze into a tissue, and then throw the tissue away. If you don’t have a tissue, cough/sneeze into your elbow.
    • As much as you can, avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose.
    • If children are feeling sick, please keep them home from school and/or other activities. Allow them some time to feel better so that they do not risk infecting others.

    Student + Family Assistance Program

To promote healthy homes, minds and families, the Wauwatosa School District is proud to offer the Student and Family Assistance Program (SFAP) through Aurora Healthcare to all Wauwatosa School District students and families residing in the same household - at no charge. This program provides students and families up to six goal-focused, confidential counseling, consultation, or intervention sessions per family member, per issue to address personal, family or environmental factors that impact academic performance or personal well being.

All services are confidential. No information about you or your family situation will be shared with school personnel without your permission.

For more information, click here. To get assistance, please call Aurora EAP at 800-236-3231.

    Technology + Help Desk

Families may retain District-issued Chromebooks over the summer. Chromebooks will continue to be subject to content filtering, monitoring and all acceptable use guidelines. Families who choose to keep a Chromebook for the summer months, will be responsible for any repairs or replacement required due to loss, theft or other damage. If you do not wish to accept this responsibility, you may return your child's Chromebook to one of our contactless technology support kiosks. If your child is not graduating but is NOT returning to the District, you will be required to return the Chromebook along with any other District-issued equipment. Please click here to access information regarding technology support kiosk dates, locations and times.

The Chromebook Technology Support Kiosks will close for the remainder of summer break on Thursday, August 6, 2020.
