Our elementary libraries have the following policies in place in order to keep materials in good condition and in the hands of many students:
- Every class has a checkout time every week, but individual students may visit the library any time, at the discretion of the classroom teacher.
- Books can be kept for one week. They can be returned as early as they wish, or renewed if they need more time.
- Students in grades 1 - 5 may check out up to four books, K students may check out up to 2 at a time.
- Once a student has checked out their limit of books, additional books may not be checked out until the others are returned.
- There are no fines for overdue materials.
- Lost or damaged materials must be paid for at the cost of buying a replacement. Paperbacks generally cost about $5 and hardcover books about $20.
- Families will be given reminders of overdue materials weekly.
- If you find the lost book after you paid to replace it, please return it to the library to receive a refund.
Thank you for helping us keep our library books and materials in great demand!
