2012 Friends of Education East Honoree ... Congratulations to Beverly McWilliams (left), who recently received a 2012 Friends of Education Award from the Wauwatosa Education Association. The award recipients—school staff and volunteers—were honored for their contribution to the education of students in the Wauwatosa School District. The honorees were recognized at an awards presentation on April 24 at West High School.

Congratulations to East teacher Nicole Vitrano and West teacher Andy Zietlow, as well as District Project Lead the Way staff members Bill Anderson and Jerry Merz, who wrote and will facilitate several grants next year.
Apps for AP Psychology

These apps will allow all of our students to be actively engaged in the learning process. Many of the experiments we use in class involve a few students. The apps are interactive, so all students have the experience of being an active participant in class. Even the hesitant students can participate without feeling any embarrassment.
Portable Wind Tunnel, part of the Discovery Lab
William Anderson and Jerry Merz: $5,000
The wind tunnel will be equipped with a laptop and have embedded electronic sensors to collect real-time data. This information would be collected by students and used for analysis for their model designs. |
