About the School Program and Children's Hospital
The school program at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin is administered by the Wauwatosa School District. Three full-time certified teachers provide schooling for children who cannot attend their regular school due to their hospitalization. The teachers are assisted by a teacher's aide. Instruction for kindergarten through high school students is provided in the hospital schoolroom or at the bedside. Participation in educational activities allows children to keep up-to-date with schoolwork and helps to provide a sense of normalcy during hospitalization.
Computer programs and internet access are available, along with curriculum materials, a student library and creative art experiences.
