The Roosevelt community recently celebrated a very successful Pennies for Patients campaign. During the month of March students brought in their spare change and bills and put them in specially decorated buckets in each classroom. By the end of the month, the school had collected $2,594.18 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Wisconsin. This was far more than the $2,000 goal that been been set at the beginning of the campaign. This was great news to everyone, except school principal Frank Calarco and physical education teacher Chad Hoffman who agreed to shave their heads if the school reached its goal. On April 3 students and staff filled the Roosevelt gym and watched as district Superintendent Phil Ertl played the role of barber.  Thanks to everyone who helped Roosevelt Elementary achieve its goal!
