Long Range Plan Action Steps 2012-2013

The Long Range Plan is the guiding document for the yearly District Development Plan. The various action steps included in the Long Range Plan are listed as initiatives or projects in the District Development Plan (DDP). Below is a listing of the various action steps in the Long Range Plan that are currently in the 2012-2013 District Development Plan.

Wisconsin Model Academic Standards/Analysis of Curriculum

  • Secondary scheduling pg. 14 #17  also listed under Preparation for Post High School section of the LRP pg. 21 #7 (Initiative)
  • Curriculum Council pg. 10 #1 ongoing this year alignment with Common Core pg. 11 #4--(Initiative)
  • Data assessment and data driven decision making pgs.12,16-17 (Initiative)
  • Building Leadership Teams for in-service pg. 20 #3-5  (Initiative)
  • Professional Learning Communities: All PLC’s will create formative and summative common assessments and provide evidence of using data analysis to further individual and group student learning.pg. 20 #4 (Initiative)

  • ACT, PLAN, and  EXPLORE: Teachers will learn how to use this data to increase rigor and college readiness in the classroom (Initiative)

Diversity

  • Increase parental and community involvement and improve communication. pg. 39 #2 
  •  Devise an in-service plan to examine and address the needs of a diverse population, increase cultural competency of staff, and ensure continuity throughout the years. Guidance grant for three years to embed staff and student advocacy  throughout district.pg. 40 # 1 (Initiative)

Students conduct themselves in a safe, respectful and ethical manner

Communication, Trust for the Common Good

Employment Practices Hire, Retain Outstanding Staff

  • Pilot the teacher and principal evaluation system that the WI DPI will fully implement in 2014(Initiative) 
  •  Implement web based HR management system to facilitate easier communication regarding areas like payroll, benefits information, employee data and exit surveys. pg 86 #12 (Project)

LRP Recommendations from Yearly Update Meeting was held on November 13, 2012 with the 2010 LRP committee.

  • Note: Three new strategies were developed by the members of the October 2010 LRP committee. Some strategies overlap the 2007 LRP and other are being addressed through the yearly District Development plan.
