In her various roles, Laura works extensively with school district staff, parents, community members and Wauwatosa alumni. As Long Range Plan Coordinator, she is responsible for overseeing the development and progress of the many implementation teams working to move the district’s LRP and the yearly District Development Plan. She is also responsible for helping to communicate the variety of initatives and programming that occurs throughout the district.

In her role as Community Liaison, she works closely with community groups and organizations to address concerns, assist with initiatives and develop community partnerships which will serve to benefit district students.  She is a frequent guest of school PTA/PTO and principal advisory groups. She is a member of the board of directors for the Education Foundation of Wauwatosa. She serves on the Wellness in Tosa Schools (WITS) committee, the food service parent advisory committee and frequently assists district administration with volunteer recruitment for various initiatives.

She also provides outreach to Wauwatosa High School, East and West alumni, to establish connections and encourage a life-long connection between our schools and their students. Through her role as Alumni Liaison, Laura is responsible for corresponding with alumni through various means and for working with the various parent groups, such as the booster clubs, as they reach out to their alumni.

Prior to serving in her current position, Laura also taught a Family and Consumer Ed course at Longfellow Middle School for two years.  In addition, as a district parent/volunteer and advocate for the Wauwatosa Schools for 19 years, she was twice honored with the Wauwatosa Education Association’s Friend of Education Award. She also collaborated with district staff to receive and implement three Education Foundation of Wauwatosa (EFW) grants for programs to benefit students.

Laura is also a Registered Dietitian, and has volunteered to coordinate several health and wellness programs and initiatives for district students. During the 2008-09 school year, she received a nutrition education grant on behalf of the Wauwatosa School District from the Wisconsin Department of Public Intruction to promote nutrition education in classrooms throughout the district.
