| Guidelines for Video Productions |
Producing a media movie is not all glamour and fun. It is hard work. The successful completion of the project demands commitment, a great deal of responsible, mature behavior, as well as cooperation. Therefore, the following guidelines have been set up with the expectation that you will read and comprehend them before you embark on the production of your project.
1. The Storyboard and/or script must be approved before production begins.
2. School Rules are to be followed during work on any class project.
3. You are expected to take precautions so that there is no risk of injury to yourself or others during taping. Observe rules of safety and use common sense. No stunts!
4. The Wauwatosa Police Department should be contacted for videotaping activities that take place in public areas of Wauwatosa.
5. No guns or super-soakers.
6. No "simulated" pot smoking.
7. No "fake" drinking.
8. No gratuitous foul language can be present - yes all words have meaning in a given context, but I will censor the following: the "B" word, the "F" word, the "N" word, and any other word that is deemed to break the standards of good taste.
9. If you need to use a camera during the school day, be sure you have made arrangements with the administrator, teacher or staff member in charge of the given area. This permission must be written and signed before I will give you a camera.
10. Your production is not to interfere with the normal working of the school day.
11. If using the class's camera, it is necessary for you to adhere to the schedule. The student(s)'s name on the schedule is the individual responsible for the equipment that is checked out.
12. If the video project is to be shown publicly, the project must be completed by the final deadline so that the instructor will have the opportunity to examine it in a reasonable amount of time before the exhibition.
13. There is no guarantee that a video project will be shown to an audience. In order for a project to be shown, it must be given final approval by your instructor. If any part of a project is deemed outside the standards of good taste, it will be found unacceptable and not shown.
