Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC)
                                
The purpose of the SEAC is to ensure that parents have an organized voice in the district; that parents are involved in decision-making processes and procedures as appropriate and permitted by law; and that parent needs, concerns and issues are communicated, addressed, and resolved regularly and effectively. The SEAC shall be primarily comprised of parent and community members, with a representive from each school in the district.
 
Duties/Responsibilities
• Review proposed and/or new district initiatives
• Meet regularly with Therese Kwiatkowski to discuss district and school issues
• Solicit and report parent concerns to raise at SEPAC meetings
• Report activities of SEPAC and other pertinent information back to other parents in the school
• Assist in planning and recruiting parents to district parent events

• discuss best practices for creating, strengthening and sustaining special education in Wauwatosa.

What this group is not: Negative, complaint driven, and single-minded.
 
 
If you come with a complaint, bring a proposed solution. Do not present anything in an accusatory tone. Remember, you are here to represent your ENTIRE school. This is not the time or place for personal issues. Those can be discussed with Therese Kwiatkowski in private.
